Since I was young, I’ve been in love with deep, meaningful conversations. Remember the kind? The ones that used to occur tethered between two landlines, under the covers, late at night. Secret desires spoken in whispers. Hour upon hour upon hour.

I think it’s no wonder I’m drawn to the interview as a format: as much as something to read as well as a way to begin to write. I learn as much from the questions as I do from the answers. Maybe more.

This one checks all the boxes reminding me of the many reasons whenever Edge of Seventeen comes on in my car, I turn the volume up to eleven and sing OUT LOUD.

Stevie Nicks is a rock star.

(not to mention she has great shoes)

I read this yesterday morning, then I read it again.

And then Noah and I watched Storks (it’ll make sense if you read the interview).

Of course, it’s not really about being Stevie Nicks rather it’s how she speaks to the many ways she learned to become herself. The ways we can all open our singular memory libraries and check in there.
